SNEC Student Travel Award

The Southern New England Chapter of the American Fisheries Society (SNEC) Student Travel Award was established in 2005. The fund provides monetary travel awards for deserving graduate students or exceptional undergraduate students to make an oral or poster presentation or attend the American Fisheries Society (AFS) annual meeting.

Upcoming AFS Annual Meetings:
    2010 September 12-16, Pittsburgh, PA
    2011 September 4-8, Seattle, WA
2012 August 19-23, St. Paul, MN

Any student who is active in fisheries or related aquatic disciplines is eligible to apply. The awardee is chosen by the SNEC Education Committee and the SNEC Board of Directors. Selection is based on academic qualifications, professional service, and recommendation from advisor.
Students are eligible for a $500.00 award if they are presenting a paper or a poster at the meeting. A second award of $200.00 is available to students attending the meeting but not presenting (it may also be awarded to a presenter who does not receive the $500.00 award). The awards are meant to help defray the costs associated with attending the meeting. Receipts of registration will be requested.

Please use the attached Application Form.  Completed applications must be received by the DEADLINE of May 29, 2009 to be considered. Limit all answers to the space provided. Additional material will not be considered in evaluating applicants.
